Hawks host LeBron, Cavs

12.1.2006

(Basketball News) - The Cleveland Cavaliers try and get back on the winning track tonight when they visit the Atlanta Hawks tonight at Philips Arena.

Cleveland has lost three of four and four of its last six games, including Wednesday’s 101-98 setback against the New York Knicks at Quicken Loans Arena.

LeBron James had 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Cavs, who failed to score a point over the last 1:05 of the contest. Cleveland will now hit the road for two games at Atlanta and Houston, and is 2-4 as the guest this season.

The Hawks, meanwhile, ended a two-game losing streak with Wednesday’s 99-90 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats at Philips Arena.

Joe Johnson scored a season-high 36 points to lead the Hawks. Tyronn Lue scored 25 points off of the bench to help snap a two-game skid. Zaza Pachulia and Joe Smith both registered double-doubles on the night, with Pachulia scoring 12 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, while Smith also pulled down 13 boards with 10 points.

Atlanta, which wraps up a two-game homestand, owns a 4-3 record at home this season.

Cleveland won two of three games against Atlanta last season and has won nine of the last 10 meetings in this series.

The Cavs have won four straight after losing their last six at Atlanta.
