(Basketball News) - The Miami Heat hope to head into the All-Star break on a high note this evening, as they conclude a home-and-home set with the Orlando Magic at TD Waterhouse Centre.
On Tuesday, Dwyane Wade erupted for 38 points and Shaquille O’Neal added 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Heat past Orlando, 107-93, at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Antoine Walker went 5-of-8 from the floor for 12 points while Jason Williams and Udonis Haslem donated 10 apiece for Miami, which has won seven of its last nine.
The Heat, whose next nine games come against teams who are at least 10 games below .500, lead the Southeast Division by five games over the Washington Wizards.
Miami is 13-14 away from home this season.
Dwight Howard notched a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards in the loss last night for the Magic, who have lost five in a row and nine of their last 10. Steve Francis, Hedo Turkoglu and Keyon Dooling all chipped in 15 points in the defeat.
Orlando, which is averaging just 86.2 points during their slide, never held a lead on Tuesday and slipped to 0-17 when trailing at the start of the fourth quarter.
The Magic are 13-12 in their arena this season.
Orlando has split its two matchups with the Heat this season, but has dropped nine of 10 and 12 of its last 17 in the series. Miami has also won five of eight in Orlando.
