(Basketball News) - The Houston Rockets were on the wrong end of a 110-100 decision against the playoff-hopeful Denver Nuggets on Friday at the Pepsi Center.
Yao Ming paced the Rockets with 23 points and 10 boards, while Cuttino Mobley netted 17 points. Clarence Weatherspoon and Jim Jackson added 16 and 15 points, respectively for Houston, losers of three straight.
The Rockets have yet to clinch a playoff spot but will likely be the seventh seed in the Western Conference when the postseason rolls around.
Houston has lost five of its last seven on the road and is just 16-21 away from home this season.
The Rockets will return to action on Sunday when they welcome the Sacramento Kings to the Toyota Center. Houston has won five of seven and 10 of its last 14 at home and is 26-12 in its building this season.
Houston has lost all three matchups with the Kings this season and have dropped four straight, 13 of 15 and 16 of the last 19 matchups. The Rockets have also fallen in five of seven and six of nine at home in this series.
