(Basketball News) - Jermaine O’Neal poured in 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Indiana Pacers to a 96-88 win over the Utah Jazz on Friday at the Delta Center.
Ron Artest added 17 points and five assists for the Pacers, who have won four straight games and improved to an Eastern Conference-best 17-6 against teams from the West this season.
Reggie Miller scored 16 points as he hit 4-of-7 from three-point range for Indiana, which made 28-of-58 field goals (48 percent) and 34-of-38 from the foul line (90 percent). O’Neal was 12-of-14 from the free-throw line.
The Pacers swept the season series from the Jazz and have claimed seven of the last 11 meetings between the two squads.
Indiana has won seven of its last eight games. The Pacers have also won eight of their last 11 road games.
O’Neal has scored in double digits in 14 straight games. He has averaged 24.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in his last two contests.
Artest has averaged 21 points and five assists in his last two games.
The Pacers are off until Sunday when they visit rookie sensation Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets. This will be the second and final meeting of the season between the two clubs. On November 4, 2003, Indiana beat Denver, 71-60, at Conseco Fieldhouse.
