Iverson-less Sixers host Raptors

=== Iverson-less Sixers host Raptors ===

(Basketball News) - The Philadelphia 76ers will host the Toronto Raptors tonight before they embark on a three-game road trip out West.

On Sunday, the Sixers put the brakes on a three-game losing streak with Sunday’s 94-91 win over the Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum. Allen Iverson had 18 points before leaving the game for good in the second quarter with a twisted ankle.

Iverson is expected to miss tonight’s game after an MRI on Monday revealed a sprain and contusion of the right foot. The Georgetown product is averaging 33.2 points and 7.4 assists per game this season.

Chris Webber stepped up after Iverson left on Sunday and finished with 31 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. Steven Hunter scored 13 points and pulled down nine boards.

The Sixers, seeded seventh in the East, are 4-2 in their last six home games and 19-13 at the Wachovia Center this season. After they host the Raptors, the Sixers will travel to Seattle, the LA Clippers and Golden State.

Iverson could miss that road swing as well.

Toronto, meanwhile, ended a three-game losing streak with Sunday’s 93-89 win over the Indiana Pacers.

Mike James had the game-winning basket in the waning seconds, while Morris Peterson registered 25 points for the Raptors, who set the NBA all-time record at 595 consecutive games with a three-pointer.

The Raptors, who have just two wins in their last 11 games, have lost the first three meetings with Philadelphia this season.

Philadelphia posted a 104-92 win on November 15 at home, then completed a home-and-home sweep with a 121-115 triumph at Air Canada Centre. The 76ers improved to 3-0 with a 107-80 romp on December 18 in Toronto.

The 76ers have won four straight and six of the last seven meetings with Toronto. The Raptors have lost three in a row and 10 of 15 in Philadelphia.
