Iverson returns to lead Philadelphia past Cleveland

Cleveland, OH (Basketball News) - Allen Iverson scored 34 points after missing four games because of injuries to both ankles, as the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 100-95 at Quicken Loans Arena.

Chris Webber scored 26 points for the Sixers, who stopped a small two-game slide. Samuel Dalembert notched 13 points and Andre Iguodala added 10 in the win.

LeBron James scored 31 points for Cleveland, which lost its second straight after posting a seven-game winning streak. Zydrunas Ilgauskas notched 26 points and 11 boards for the Cavs.

Iverson capped a 9-2 Philadelphia run on a jumper with 6:11 left in the game that put the Sixers up 87-79, to which Cleveland failed to respond.

The Cavs opened the game with a 13-4 run snapped by a pair of free throws by Iverson with 6:46 left in the first quarter. James spun across the lane and dished the ball to Damon Jones in the left corner for a three as the first- quarter buzzer sounded to put Cleveland up 32-23.

Philadelphia outscored Cleveland 27-20 in the second quarter, and trailed 52-50 at halftime. The Sixers outscored the Cavs in the third quarter 24-17 to overtake the lead 74-69 heading into the fourth.

Cleveland committed 19 turnovers, which Philadelphia converted into 23 points.

The Sixers are 9-13 as the visitor this season. Philadelphia is 2-6 against Central Division opponents.

The Cavaliers, who will host the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, are 17-6 as the host this season.

Game Notes

This is the second meeting of the season between the clubs. On November 19th, LeBron James recorded a triple-double with 36 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists to pace Cleveland to a 123-120 victory over the Sixers at the Wachovia Center...Philadelphia has won 10 of its last 12 at Cleveland.
