New York had a two-game winning streak come to an end with Saturday’s 122-118 loss to the Boston Celtics. Jamal Crawford scored 37 points for the Knicks, while Nate Robinson added 20 points in the win.
Steve Francis had 17 points for New York, which was coming off a 24-point win over the defending NBA champion Heat on Friday night.
Houston, meanwhile, has lost two of its last three games after a four-game winning streak. On Saturday the Rockets were handed a 104-92 loss by the Detroit Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Yao Ming scored a game-high 33 points and pulled down 16 boards, but had eight turnovers for the Rockets, who lost for just the second time in seven games. Tracy McGrady tallied 24 points and Shane Battier had nine for Houston.
Houston went 2-0 against the Knicks last season and has won three straight and five of the last six meetings.
The Rockets have won three straight after losing their last two at New York.
