LeBron-less Cavs wrap up home-and-home set against 76ers

01.26.2007

(Basketball News) - The Philadelphia 76ers shoot for their first three-game winning streak since opening the season 3-0, as they host the Cleveland Cavaliers in the back end of a home-and-home set at the Wachovia Center.

Philadelphia has won two in a row and defeated the Cavaliers, 118-115, in double overtime on Wednesday night at Quicken Loans Arena. Andre Iguodala scored a career-high 34 points and added nine assists for the Sixers, who won for the third time in four games.

Samuel Dalembert posted 20 points and 10 rebounds, while rookie Rodney Carney added 18 points. Andre Miller scored 16 points and dished out eight assists for the Sixers, who are tied with Boston for last in the Atlantic Division.

The Cavaliers, meanwhile, have lost five of six and are a game behind Detroit in the Central standings. In Wednesday’s loss to Philly, LeBron James had 39 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Larry Hughes scored 26 points and Zydrunas Ilgauskas contributed 23 and 10 boards.

James was selected as a starter for the Eastern Conference in February’s upcoming All-Star game in Las Vegas and led all players with more than 2 1/2 million votes. However, James is nursing an injured right toe, suffered in the loss to the Sixers on Wednesday, and will miss Friday’s game to rest.

Cleveland is 9-13 away from home this season, while the 76ers own a 7-10 record in the City of Brotherly Love.

The season series between Cleveland and Philadelphia is tied at a game apiece with two more meetings on the slate.

Philadelphia has won seven of the last 10 against the Cavaliers, who have lost four of five and 13 of their last 15 games at the Sixers.
