James is hampered with a sprained right ankle and could return for Thursday’s game against the Sacramento Kings. James leads the team in scoring with 20.4 points per contest.
The 19-year-old Akron, Ohio native suffered an ankle sprain when he came down awkwardly on his right foot after going up for a layup late in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s 102-96 overtime win at Utah.
Meanwhile, the Cavs will be without center Zydrunas Ilgauskas, who was suspended by the league for one game for throwing a punch at Jazz center Greg Ostertag.
James and Ilgauskas account for more than one-third of Cleveland’s scoring.
According to head coach Paul Silas, Darius Miles was fined by the team for oversleeping and missing Monday’s practice.
