Los Angeles Clippers Team Report - March 25 03.25.2004
|
(Basketball News) - Two teams just playing out the string meet up tonight at the Staples Center, as the Los Angeles Clippers welcome the Washington Wizards to town.
Los Angeles enters tonight’s tilt riding a five-game losing streak after its 91-85 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday at the Rose Garden. Corey Maggette scored 22 points and Eddie House added 21 for the Clippers, who have dropped 13 of their last 15 contests.
Maggette had missed LA’s last two games with a sore left knee.
Elsewhere on the injury front, Quentin Richardson missed last night’s loss because of back spasms and Keyon Dooling sat out the game with a stomach virus. Both players are questionable for tonight’s affair, while Chris Wilcox will likely miss his seventh straight contest with an Achilles’ injury..
At 27-45, the Clippers have already secured their 11th straight losing season, which is four short of the NBA record set by Kansas City, which moved to Sacramento before that streak ended.
Los Angeles, which will close its brief two-game homestand on Saturday against Minnesota, has dropped three straight and six of its last seven at home and is 18-17 in its arena this season.
The Clippers lost to the Wizards earlier in the year and have lost three in a row and five of the last six matchups. The Clips have also dropped seven of its last eight in LA against the Wizards.
