(Basketball News) - The Los Angeles Clippers lost their third in a row Saturday, falling to the Minnesota Timberwolves, 103-91, at the Target Center.
Quentin Richardson poured in a career-high 36 points for the Clippers.
The Timberwolves scored 10 unanswered points in the first quarter and they led the rest of the way. Sam Cassell completed the burst on a three-pointer with 5:38 left in the frame to give Minnesota a 19-10 advantage.
The Timberwolves would go on to end the quarter on a 9-2 spurt, capped off by two Latrell Sprewell free throws, en route to taking a commanding 34-19 edge into the second.
The Clippers outscored the Timberwolves 22-20 in the second and then 29-26 in the third, but never seriously threatened.
Chris Kaman produced 12 points and 15 boards off the bench for the Clippers.
Clippers guard Marko Jaric missed the game with a left foot injury and is day- to-day.
The Clippers are off until Monday when they host Yao Ming and the Houston Rockets in the first of a five-game homestand.
