McGrady misses game due to sore back

Houston, TX (Basketball News) - Houston Rockets forward Tracy McGrady missed Wednesday night’s home game against Phoenix due to a sore lower back.

McGrady scored 45 points in Tuesday’s 109-96 loss at Dallas, but his back tightened up after the game. He sat on the bench the final three minutes due to his back problem, which has limited his playing time this season.

Wednesday marked the eighth game McGrady has missed this year due to his sore back. He is averaging 22.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 6.3 assists.

Houston was without its top two offensive weapons Wednesday night. Center Yao Ming has been out for three weeks already due to a displaced fracture in a bone under his right knee.
