Minnesota Timberwolves Team Report - March 27 03.27.2004
|
(Basketball News) - The Minnesota Timberwolves will try and avoid their third straight loss this evening when they continue their four-game road trip against the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center.
The Wolves’ latest setback came on Friday against the Lakers, who handed them a 90-73 setback. Latrell Sprewell scored 19 points and Kevin Garnett added 16 points with 16 rebounds for Minnesota, which has dropped two in a row.
Thanks to their recent struggles, the Timberwolves have watched their lead in the Midwest Division slip to just 1 1/2 games over the defending champion San Antonio Spurs. Minnesota, though, is just two games back of the Sacramento Kings for the top overall spot in the Western Conference.
The Timberwolves, who will close their trip in Houston on Monday, have dropped four of their last five on the road and are 22-14 away from home this season.
Minnesota has defeated the Clippers three times this season and has won six straight, seven of eight and eight of the last 10 matchups in the series. LA, though, has won four of its last seven at home against Minnesota.
