MVP Duncan sits against Warriors

03.12.2004

San Antonio, TX (Basketball News) - San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan missed Friday’s game against the Golden State Warriors as he continues rehabilitation on his left knee.

The Spurs still managed to rout the Warriors, 99-74, as they had seven players finish in double figures. Kevin Willis even came off the bench to score 16 points and grab seven rebounds to help ease the loss of Duncan.

Duncan, who returned from the injured list to score nine points in 15 minutes Wednesday in a 108-90 win over the Los Angeles Clippers, is listed as probable for San Antonio’s game against Sacramento on Sunday.

The league’s reigning MVP missed six games with an irritation of the patellofemoral joint just above his left knee before playing against the Clippers. The Spurs were 4-2 without him.

Duncan is averaging 22.9 points and 12.8 rebounds over 55 games this season, both team highs.
