Chicago, IL (Basketball News) - Blake Schilb scored 22 points to lead the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers to a 99-86 victory over the Evansville Purple Aces in a non-conference tussle.
Chris Logan added 17 points and five assists for Loyola (2-0), while Leon Young came off the bench to contribute 16 points and 12 rebounds. Majak Kou tallied 15 points for the Ramblers, while J.R. Blount chipped in 13 points in the victory.
Jason Holsinger scored a game-high 24 points and dished out seven assists for Evansville (1-1), while Bradley Strickland posted 13 points to go along with eight rebounds. Kyle Anslinger added 12 points for the Purple Aces, while Eric Ottens chipped in 11 points in the losing effort.
The Ramblers shot an impressive 66.7 percent from the field in the opening half to take a solid 53-36 lead into the break.
In the second half, Loyola connected on 15-of-21 shots from the charity stripe en route to the 13-point victory.
The Ramblers committed 18 turnovers in the contest, but was able to force Evansville into 23 miscues.
