Milwaukee, WI (Basketball News) - Michael Redd scored 25 points, including five of his team’s seven in overtime, as the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Golden State Warriors 94-89 at the Bradley Center.
Dan Gadzuric recorded his first double-double of the year with career highs of 19 points and 13 rebounds for the Bucks, who snapped a three-game losing streak.
Desmond Mason added 13 points and T.J. Ford scored 11 for Milwaukee, which has now defeated Golden State eight consecutive times.
Nick Van Exel scored 21 points to lead the Warriors, whose two-game winning streak was stopped. Speedy Claxton chipped in with 15 points off the bench, while Erick Dampier had 11.
Tied at 87, Redd scored the first bucket in overtime on a layup two minutes in. After the Warriors failed on their next possession, missing two jumpers, Damon Jones buried a jumper to extend the lead to 91-87
Dampier missed a crucial layup that would have cut the lead to two with 40 seconds left. Redd then sealed the win with a jumper at the other end, making it 93-87 with 17 seconds left.
Van Exel finally got Golden State on the board in overtime, hitting a jumper with only 10 seconds to go, as the Warriors shot 1-for-12 in extra time.
After Mason made a free throw with 2:24 left in the fourth to tie it 85-85, Joe Smith made a bucket with 38 ticks left to give the Bucks a two-point edge.
Van Exel, who scored six of the Warriors’ last eight in regulation, tied it at 87-87 with 17.7 seconds remaining on a runner through the lane.
Ford then drove the lane, but his layup bounced away with 2.1 seconds to go.
Mike Dunleavy’s last second three-point attempt came up empty, sending the game into overtime.
Redd scored 14 points in the first stanza to take the Bucks out to a 27-19 heading into the second.
The Warriors then ran off eight of the next 10 points, as Mickael Pietrus and Brian Cardinal hit back-to-back treys to get it back within two at 29-27.
Trailing 50-47, Van Exel hit an acrobatic three-pointer at the halftime buzzer from just inside half-court to even the score at 50-50.
