Los Angeles, CA (Basketball News) - Kobe Bryant was limited to just 17 points, but the Los Angeles Lakers used solid defense and better board work to beat the Phoenix Suns, 99-92, in Game 3 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series.
Smush Parker totaled 18 points for the seventh-seeded Lakers, who took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven set. Game 4 is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at the Staples Center.
All five Los Angeles starters scored in double figures and LA outrebounded Phoenix, 53-34. Luke Walton had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Lamar Odom contributed 15 points and 17 boards, while Kwame Brown ended with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
It marked the second straight game the Lakers held the Suns under triple digits, as they won 99-93 at Phoenix on Wednesday.
Shawn Marion had 20 points before fouling out in the closing seconds for the Suns. Steve Nash had 17 points and 11 assists, while Tim Thomas added 18 points in a losing cause.
