02.16.2005

Chicago, IL (Basketball News) - Eddy Curry scored 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, while Ben Gordon netted 24 to lead Chicago over Sacramento, 107-102 at the United Center.

Kirk Hinrich finished with 11 points and 12 assists as the Bulls ended their 11-game losing streak to Sacramento and won for the second straight time. Luol Deng and Othella Harrington scored 15 points apiece in the win.

"That was a great win," Chicago head coach Scott Skiles stated. "I thought Eddy Curry was great. I was very happy that he stepped up there at the end and hit those big free throws."

Brad Miller led the way for the Kings with 23 points and nine rebounds, while Mike Bibby ended with 21 points and seven assists in the loss. Sacramento lost for the fifth time in six games. Cuttino Mobley added 20 points and Chris Webber tallied 15 before fouling out midway through the fourth quarter.

"In the third quarter we started playing," Sacramento head coach Rick Adelman. "Give them credit, though. They made big shots when they had to. This is tough loss."

The Kings battled back in the third and trailing 56-47 used a 13-0 burst to claim the lead. Mobley fueled the flurry with nine points, including a pair from beyond the arc.

Both clubs traded buckets for the remainder of the quarter with Sacramento claiming a 75-74 lead heading into the final frame.

In what continued to be a tight contest, Sacramento grabbed a five-point lead, 89-84, following a three-pointer by Bibby with 5:14 remaining.

Chicago answered with six straight points and grabbed the lead 90-89 when Curry slammed one home with less than four minutes to go.

Hinrich put the Bulls up by four when his step-back trey made it 95-91 moments later. The Kings responded on the other end when Webber connected on a jumper to cut the deficit to two.

Curry then hit a bucket down low on the next Bulls’ possession, while Gordon’s floater made it a six-point spread, 99-93 with just over a minute left.

Sacramento cut it to two again, following Miller’s three-point play, but Gordon quickly put the Bulls back up four, 102-98 with 49 seconds left on the clock.

The Kings got as close as three the rest of the way.

Chicago led 25-20 after the first 12 minutes and stretched its lead in the second as they went into the break up, 53-44.

Tyson Chandler missed the game for Chicago because of personal reasons...Peja Stojakovic missed the game with flu-like symptons...Chicago shot 35-of-66 from the field (53 percent) and hit 35-of-48 free throws...Sacramento shot just 43 percent from the floor and connected on 5-of-15 from beyond the arc...The Bulls outrebounded the Kings 43-32.
