NBA Game Summary - Seattle at Indiana

Indianapolis, IN (Basketball News) - Rashard Lewis finished with a game-high 30 points and Ray Allen added 18, as the Seattle SuperSonics earned a 101-93 victory over the Indiana Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Vladimir Radmanovic netted 14 points for the Sonics, who have won four of five and nine of their last 12 games. Jerome James added 13 points before fouling out, while Antonio Daniels posted 12.

Stephen Jackson poured in 28 points in the loss and Jermaine O’Neal added 18, but the Pacers dropped their second straight contest on the heels of a five- game winning streak.

Austin Croshere netted 15 points in the loss and Reggie Miller chipped in 10.

Indiana held a 73-72 lead to begin the fourth quarter and would push that edge to 89-84 after a pair of O’Neal free throws with 5:16 left in the fourth. However, it was all Seattle from that point, as the Sonics closed the game on a 17-4 explosion. The Sonics started the run with three-pointers on three consecutive trips down the court. Lewis, who had 12 points in the final quarter, hit a pair of the shots from beyond the arc to get the big Seattle run started.

The Pacers did get within three points after O’Neal hit a pair of free throws to make it 95-92 with 1:36 left, but they would get no closer than that.

The Sonics jumped out to a quick start in the opening quarter and soon held a 15-6 advantage after Reggie Evans converted a three-point play near the midway point of the period. Seattle would push its advantage to 32-20 by the end of the first quarter.

Indiana rallied in the second quarter and was able to cut the deficit to 44-41 after Jackson’s three-pointer with 3:29 remaining. However, the Sonics would hold onto the lead, as they carried a 53-48 cushion into the locker room.

The Pacers opened the third quarter with a 7-2 stretch to even the score at 55-55 and they would take a one-point lead when O’Neal hit a free throw to with 9:36 left. Seattle held the lead for the entire first half, but the third quarter alone featured five ties and five lead changes. Indiana was ahead, 73-72, after 36 minutes.

Evans finished with eight points and a game-high 12 rebounds for the Sonics...The Pacers were without point guard Jamaal Tinsley (bruised left foot) and center Jeff Foster (back spasms) for the third consecutive game...The Sonics made 19-of-23 free throws (83-percent), while Indiana connected on 25-of-36 from the stripe (69-percent)...O’Neal made just 8-of-14 free throws.
