Silver Stars storm past Seattle

San Antonio, TX (Basketball News) - Becky Hammon poured in 21 points and dished out nine assists as the San Antonio Silver Stars beat the Seattle Storm, 82-71, at the AT&T Center.

Erin Buescher scored 18 and Shanna Crossley added 14 for the Silver Stars, who have won back-to-back games at home following their season-opening loss in Phoenix. Vickie Johnson scored just two points but grabbed 10 rebounds and had 10 assists in the victory.

Janell Burse scored a team-high 19 points and had 11 boards for Seattle, which suffered its first defeat of the season following a pair of 13-point victories at KeyArena. Iziane Castro Marques chipped in with 17 points and Lauren Jackson donated 16 points and 11 rebounds.

The Storm scored just 12 points in the second quarter. They went just 1-for-14 in 10:29, spanning the first and second quarters, and finished the night shooting just 34.8 percent.
