The Bobcats play the finale of a brief two-game homestand. On Thursday, Sean May scored a career-high 32 points to lift Charlotte to a 99-89 win over Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic. May went 9-of-15 from the field, made 14- of-17 foul shots and pulled down six rebounds.
Rookie Adam Morrison ended with 22 points and seven rebounds, while Emeka Okafor tallied 13 points and 11 boards in the win over Orlando for the Bobcats, who snapped a four-game skid.
The Bobcats are just 4-8 at home this season. They will visit the New York Knicks on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden.
Boston, which is tied for the Atlantic Division lead with New Jersey, has won four in a row after a five-game losing streak and defeated Denver, 119-114, on Friday night at TD Banknorth Garden.
Paul Pierce had 38 points, eight rebounds and nine assists, while Tony Allen had a career-best 30 points and pulled down eight boards. Al Jefferson had 28 points and 10 rebounds. The three combined to shoot 35-for-49 from the field, as the Celtics improved to 4-8 at home this season.
Boston is 5-5 on the road this year and is enjoying the longest winning streak since a seven-game stretch from March 11-19, 2005.
