Bobcats happy to be back in Charlotte 12.7.2005

After a dismal 0-4 road trip, the Bobcats return home tonight to face the New Jersey Nets. Charlotte, though, has dropped all four of its matchups with the Nets.
On Sunday, Kobe Bryant hit two free throws with seven seconds remaining and finished with 29 points overall to lift the Los Angeles Lakers over the Bobcats, 99-98, at the Staples Center.
Brevin Knight had 17 points and eight assists in the loss for Charlotte, but missed two critical free throws in the waning moments that allowed the Lakers to take the lead.
Melvin Ely poured in 20 points on 10- of-13 shooting for the Bobcats, who have dropped seven of their last nine overall and fell to a dismal 1-10 on the road this season. Bernard Robinson chipped in 13 points in the loss.
On the injury front center Jake Voskuhl (ankle) and guard Kareem Rush (finger) are expected to miss Wednesday’s game against New Jersey.
The Bobcats, who have won three in a row at home, are 4-3 in their building this season. After tonight’s contest Charlotte will head to Philadelphia before hosting Toronto and Denver.
