Boozer’s deal is reportedly for six years and worth $68 million, while Okur inked a reported six-year, $50 million deal.
The 22-year-old Boozer averaged 15.5 points and 11.4 rebounds in 75 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers last season. A two-year veteran, Boozer, who played his college ball at Duke, ranked third in the league in defensive boards per game (8.4).
Cleveland abandoned its contractual rights to Boozer after last season, deciding not to pick up an option that would have cost less than $700,000 in hopes that Boozer would re-sign for a six-year mid-level exception.
Okur, 25, played 71 games for the world champion Detroit Pistons last season. He averaged 9.6 points and 5.9 boards in 22.3 minutes per game. The 6-11 Okur was originally selected by Detroit in the second round (38th pick overall) of the 2001 NBA Draft.
The Cavaliers and Pistons both have 15 days to match the offers made to both players.
