(Basketball News) - The Boston Celtics try for their third consecutive win this evening when they face the New Jersey Nets at Continental Airlines Arena.
On Sunday, Ricky Davis scored all of his 13 points in the first half to lead Boston over Philadelphia, 89-65, in blowout at the FleetCenter.
Jiri Welsch and Mark Blount also each tallied 13 points for the Celtics, who moved one-half game ahead of the idle Cavaliers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Boston, which has won 10 of its last 14 games, held the 76ers to just 23 points in the first half and 27 percent shooting for the game
The Celtics, who are 3-6 in Monday games this season, have lost two straight and eight of their last 12 games on the road and are 16-20 away from home this season.
New Jersey has won two of three from the Celtics this season, but has lost 12 of the last 19 matchups, including three straight and seven of the past 11 as the hosts.
