According to a report in the Boston Herald, the deal would be worth $60 million over three years.
Pierce is already signed through the 2007-2008 season and the new deal will keep him in Boston through the 2010-2011 campaign.
Pierce, one of the top scorers in the NBA, averaged 26.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game during the 2005-2006 season.
In eight career seasons, all with Boston, Pierce has scored 23.5 ppg and pulled down 6.5 rebounds per contest.
