Chicago Bulls Team Report - November 23 11.23.2004
|
(Basketball News) - The Chicago Bulls remained winless on the season on Monday, as they dropped a 100-82 decision against the Phoenix Suns at America West Arena.
Ben Gordon — who hit 7-of-16 shots from the field — scored a career-high 20 points off the bench for the Bulls, who tied the franchise record by losing nine games to start a season. They also accomplished the feat to open the 1967-68 campaign.
Eddy Curry added 17 points for Chicago, which has dropped seven straight in Phoenix.
Chicago got within 71-61 on a short jumper by Gordon with less than three minutes to go in the third, but trailed 77-64 at the end of the quarter. However, Amare Stoudemire’s dunk less than four minutes into the fourth quarter capped a eight-point flurry that put the Suns ahead 85-64.
The Bulls pulled within 85-68 on a basket by Curry less than a minute later, but no closer.
Tyson Chandler finished with 10 points and nine boards for the Bulls, who fell to 0-6 on the road this season.
The Bulls will continue their season-long seven-game road trip on Wednesday against the Utah Jazz.
