(Basketball News) - The Cleveland Cavaliers fell to 0-2 on the season on Thursday, as they were dealt a 92-86 setback at the hands of the Miami Heat in front of a record crowd at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Cleveland, which was handed a double-overtime loss to Indiana in its season opener Wednesday, got 24 points and 11 boards from Drew Gooden for the only double-double of the night.
LeBron James scored 21 with eight helpers.
Center Zydrunas Ilgauskas, who tied a career-high with 35 points with 18 boards on opening night, registered just eight points with 10 boards, while guard Jeff McInnis scored 14.
To make matters worse, forward Scott Williams left after injuring his right pinky in the first quarter and did not return. He is day-to-day.
The Cavs, who fell to 9-22 all-time in Miami, will play the middle contest of a three-game road trip on Saturday in Milwaukee.
Cleveland lost all four of its matchups with the Bucks last season and has lost six of the last eight meetings. The Cavs have also lost four straight and 11 of 13 in Milwaukee.
