|
(Basketball News) - The Dallas Mavericks were knocked off by the Seattle SuperSonics, 107-102, at American Airlines Center.
Dirk Nowitzki tallied 27 points and seven rebounds for the Mavs, who have dropped two of three. Michael Finley returned from a 15-game absence due to a right ankle sprain to score 19 points, as Dallas has already matched last season’s home loss total with five.
Jerry Stackhouse also had 19 points for Dallas, which has dropped two in a row as the host.
To make room for Finley, Dallas placed rookie center D.J. Mbenga on the injured list with a strained right hamstring.
Nowitzki has scored more than 20 points in nine straight games. He is averaging 30 points per game in that span.
The Mavericks are off until Saturday when they visit Tracy McGrady and the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center. It will be the second meeting of season between the two clubs. On December 2nd, the Mavericks defeated the Rockets, 113-106, in overtime at the American Airlines Center.
