(Basketball News) - Carmelo Anthony poured in a team-high 26 points and scored the go-ahead basket late in the fourth quarter, as the Denver Nuggets rallied from a 20-point deficit to beat the Dallas Mavericks, 107-102, on Saturday at American Airlines Center.
Andre Miller netted 25 points and Nene added 15 for Denver, which snapped a 13-game losing streak in Dallas. The Nuggets last won in Dallas back in April of 1997.
Marcus Camby had another strong performance for the Nuggets, scoring nine points with 12 rebounds. Rodney White added 14 points for the victors.
Anthony’s basket completed a comeback that stretched from the third quarter, giving Denver the lead at 93-92 with under two minutes to play. Consecutive baskets by White stretched the Denver advantage to 97-92 with 1:16 left.
Steve Nash’s basket brought the Mavericks to within a three-pointer at 97-94, but that was as close as Dallas would get. Nowitzki missed a game- tying three- pointer on the Mavericks’ following possession. The missed shot resulted in Dallas fouling the rest of the way.
Miller and Anthony drained free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
Denver is off until Monday when it hosts Portland.
