Memphis enters tonight’s contest on a four-game losing streak. On Sunday, superstar Kobe Bryant scored 21 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out six assists to lead the Los Angeles Lakers over the Grizzlies, 91-81, at Staples Center.
Mike Miller had 21 points and 13 rebounds in the loss to the Lakers for the Grizzlies, while veteran Damon Stoudamire came off the bench and scored 16 points in 23-plus minutes of action.
The Grizzlies are 0-3 on the road this season. After tonight’s contest they host the Dallas Mavericks on Friday at FedExForum in the first of a home-and- home set. Memphis visits the Mavs on Saturday at American Airlines Center.
Sacramento will try and win its fourth straight game as it finishes a four- game homestand this evening. Kevin Martin scored 26 points to lead the Kings over the Toronto Raptors, 107-92, on Sunday at ARCO Arena.
Ron Artest posted 23 points and 10 rebounds in the win for the Kings, while Mike Bibby netted 21 and Shareef Abdur-Rahim finished with 18 points and seven boards.
The Kings are 3-0 at home this season. They are scheduled to visit Baron Davis and the Golden State Warriors on Thursday at ORACLE Arena.
Last season, the Grizzlies and Kings split four contests. The Grizzlies hvae lost 16 in a row at Sacramento and are 1-21 at the Kings all-time.
