Harrington sat out Atlanta’s most recent game on Tuesday night with the injury and will be sidelined for at least five games, although it is possible he will miss the rest of the season as the Hawks only have eight contests left.
The 25-year-old Harrington, who is the team’s leading scorer and rebounder, is averaging a career-high 17.5 points and seven boards this season.
Harrington, who is in his first campaign with the Hawks, spent the first six years of his career with Indiana. In 420 games, the 6-9 Harrington has posted 11.3 points and 5.6 rebounds.
In other team-related news, Atlanta activated center Michael Stewart from the injured list.
Atlanta has lost 13 straight games and sports the worst record in the NBA (11-63).
