|
Udonis Haslem had 14 rebounds, including one in the final second of overtime on a missed shot by Mike Bibby, as the Heat beat the Kings for a sixth straight time.
Gary Payton and Jason Williams each tallied 11 points for Miami, which has won four of its last six overall.
Bibby had 20 points, while Brad Miller and Ron Artest each scored 15 for Sacramento, losers of five in a row.
Miami wasted a 12-point lead with just under four minutes left in the fourth quarter and then nearly let a seven-point lead in OT slip away.
The Kings were behind 92-85 in the extra session, but four free throws from Bibby closed the margin. Wade then missed a shot and Haslem was called for offensive goaltending, and Miller’s layup with 33 seconds remaining brought the Kings within 92-91.
Wade then misfired on a bank shot and Bibby drove to the lane, but was challenged by Wade and missed the attempt. Haslem grabbed the rebound, seemingly ending the game, but 0.6 seconds were put back on the clock.
Michael Doleac was fouled on the ensuing inbounds pass. He made the first three throw with 0.3 seconds left and missed the second, ending the game.
Jason Kapono and James Posey each had 10 points for the Heat, while Kevin Martin scored 13 for the Kings.
Wade’s jumper extended the Heat to an 83-71 lead with 3:59 left in the fourth before Sacramento rallied. Miller’s two free throws with 4.4 seconds left tied the game at 85 and Wade missed a potential winning jumper at the end of regulation.
Miami led by five after the first quarter, by four at the half, but widened the advantage to 68-60 going into the fourth.
