Heat sign Tyrone Hill

Miami, FL (Basketball News) - The Miami Heat signed free agent forward Tyrone Hill on Friday and waived guard Kirk Penney.

Hill, a journeyman of 13 NBA seasons, split last year between Cleveland and Philadelphia, posting averages of 5.6 points and 7.0 rebounds over 56 games for the Cavaliers and Sixers.

The 35-year-old Hill has 74 playoff games under his belt, which is tops among current Heat players. He has averaged 9.5 points and 8.6 rebounds over 796 career games with Golden State, Cleveland, Milwaukee and Philadelphia.

Penney, who signed with the Heat as a free agent on November 3, appeared in two games with the club. He posted just three points, one rebound and one assist in 18 minutes.
