Hughes out indefinitely for Cleveland

11.16.2006

Cleveland, OH (Basketball News) - Cleveland Cavaliers guard Larry Hughes will be sidelined indefinitely with a high right ankle sprain, the team announced Thursday.

Hughes left Wednesday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers in the second quarter and did not return.

The eight-year veteran had an MRI and examination on Thursday at The Cleveland Clinic and head team physician Dr. Richard Parker discovered the injury to Hughes’ right ankle.

Over the next few days, Hughes will undergo treatment and his status will be updated in the near future.

In eight games this season with the Cavaliers, Hughes has averaged 13.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
