Jazz sign draft picks Williams and Miles 07.11.2005

Williams became the highest draft pick in University of Illinois history when the Jazz traded three first round picks to Portland in order to select him No. 3 overall.
The 6-foot-3 Williams earned consensus Second Team All-American honors with Illinois last season. The guard was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Tournament’s Chicago Regional and earned a spot on the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team as well.
Also a First Team All-Big Ten selection, Williams ended his collegiate career second in school history with 594 assists and also became the first player in conference history to lead the league in assists in each of his first three seasons.
Williams helped the Illini to a 37-2 record and a runner-up finish in the NCAAA Tournament in 2005, posting 12.5 points and 6.8 assists for the season.
Miles, a 6-foot-6 guard, was selected with the 34th overall pick. He averaged 23.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists with Skyline High School in Dallas, Texas, and was named Class AAAAA Player of the Year.
