Kerr confirms that he’ll be Suns GM

06.2.2007

Cleveland, OH (Basketball News) - Steve Kerr confirmed Saturday night that he’ll leave his post as an NBA analyst for TNT and will become the general manager of the Phoenix Suns.

Kerr made the comments Saturday night as the Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the Detroit Pistons in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals.

Kerr will replace Mike D’Antoni, who will concentrate on his coaching duties with the club.

Kerr, a partner in Suns Managing Partner Robert Sarver’s 2004 purchase of the franchise, will complete his duties with TNT for the Eastern Conference finals before the Suns make an announcement in the upcoming week.

A former University of Arizona star and Suns player, Kerr won five NBA championships with Chicago and San Antonio and has worked as a TNT analyst since 2003.
