Sacramento, CA (Basketball News) - The Sacramento Kings have re-signed forward Darius Songaila.
Songaila, who is entering his second season in the NBA, averaged 4.6 points and 3.1 rebounds in 73 games last season (seven starts).
The second-year pro was selected by the Boston Celtics in the 2002 NBA Draft, but opted to play for team CSKA Moscow in Russia.
"I’m looking forward to having Darius back next season,"said Kings President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie. "He proved himself to be a solid contributor for our team last season. I feel he has a great future in the league. I’m looking forward to him continuing to help us succeed. I think that his game and contribution will continue to grow with our team."
Sacramento acquired Songaila in a 2003 draft-day trade with the Celtics.
