(Basketball News) - The Memphis Grizzlies lost to the Seattle SuperSonics, 118-113, on Sunday at KeyArena.
The Grizzlies were led by Gasol’s 25 points, while Mike Miller added 18. Memphis had six players in double figures.
Memphis forged ahead 110-107, before Ray Allen nailed a three-pointer to tie it at 110 with 2:43 left. A free throw by Gasol regained the advantage for the Grizzlies at 111-110 with 1:52 remaining, but a Allen jumper with 1:35 left gave the Sonics the lead for good. Luke Ridnour and Allen each added a pair of free throws down the stretch to secure the come-from-behind victory.
Seattle outscored the Grizzlies 34-13 in the fourth quarter. The Sonics hit on 12-of-17 shots in the decisive frame, while the Grizzlies missed 11 of their 15 attempts.
Gasol has scored in double digits in all seven of Memphis’ games. He has averaged 18.9 and 6.6 rebounds per game so far this season.
The Grizzlies are off until Wednesday when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers. Last season, the teams split four games.
