On Wednesday, the slumping Los Angeles Clippers attempt to put the brakes on a five-game losing streak when they welcome the Grizzlies to Staples Center. The Grizzlies have won five of their last six at the Clippers. Memphis has won three straight and four of the last five contests in the series.
Memphis tries to win back-to-back games for the first time this season as it concludes a three-game road trip against the Clippers. On Tuesday, Hakim Warrick scored a team-high 25 points and Chucky Atkins added 22 to lead the Grizzlies to a 108-96 win over the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.
Lawrence Roberts contributed 16 points and Mike Miller added 13 points and dished out a career-high 14 assists in the win over the Nuggets for the Grizzlies, who snapped a 17-game skid at Denver
The Grizzlies are 1-7 on the road this season. After Wednesday’s game, Memphis returns home to host the Miami Heat on Saturday at the FedExForum. The Heat have won two straight and three of their last four over Memphis, and have won six of their last nine at the Grizzlies.
Warrick, who is playing in just his second season in the NBA, has been one of the few bright spots for the Grizzlies. The Syracuse product is averaging 15.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. He is shooting 51 percent from the floor and has scored in double-digits in three straight and 10 of 14 contests.
Memphis has allowed over 100 points three times this season and is 0-3 in those contests. The Grizzlies are in last place in the Southwest Division.
