NBA Game Summary - Charlotte at Seattle

Seattle, WA (Basketball News) - Ray Allen tied a season-high with 32 points, as the Seattle SuperSonics defeated the Charlotte Bobcats, 104-94, at KeyArena.

Rashard Lewis poured in 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Luke Ridnour added 14 points and 12 assists for Seattle, which snapped a three-game losing streak.

"Offensively I was just trying to be aggressive and make sure we just stay in the game, and try to get some kind of lead," Lewis said.

Primoz Brezec led the Bobcats with 21 points and Kareem Rush chipped in 20 points.

Emeka Okafor notched a double-double with 10 points and 13 boards for Charlotte, which has lost two of its last three games.

Brevin Knight contributed 18 points and dished out 11 assists in the loss.

"We played with a lot more energy tonight. The effort was there," Knight said. "Every time we fought back, they seemed to make a big shot and then we didn’t make a shot."

Leading 30-24 after the opening 12 minutes, the Sonics built a 44-32 edge with just under seven minutes left in the half.

Six different Sonics scored during the stretch, and after Nick Collison’s baby hook in the lane, Lewis increased the lead to a dozen with a driving slam off a dish from Ronald Murray.

The Bobcats trimmed the lead to four, 48-44, later in the period, but Seattle increased the lead back to double-digits, 56-46, by halftime.

After Lewis drained two free throws, Allen slipped into the paint for a lay- in. Then Lewis converted two slams to cap a 7-2 spurt to end the half.

Charlotte started the second half on a 10-3 run to trim the advantage to 59-56. Gerald Wallace made a layup, then after Rush converted a technical free throw, Wallace stepped outside and drained a three-pointer at the end of the spurt.

The lead slowly climbed back to 10 on a 7-0 Seattle scoring streak. Collison converted a dunk, Ridnour buried a mid-range jumper, then Allen drained a trey for Seattle. The Sonics took a 83-70 lead into the final quarter.

Seattle’s lead grew to as many as 18 points in the final quarter. Charlotte trimmed the deficit to seven in the waning moments of the game, but could get no closer.

The Bobcats’ Jake Voskuhl left the game with a sprained right ankle...Knight was ejected in the closing minute after picking up his second technical...Charlotte forward Sean May did not play...Wallace tallied 12 points in defeat...Reggie Evans grabbed 13 boards for Seattle...Seattle has won all three meetings between the two teams.
