Oakland, CA (Basketball News) - Dirk Nowitzki had 29 points and 10 rebounds to lead Dallas past Golden State, 109-97, at The Arena in Oakland.
Keith Van Horn had 24 points and Jason Terry added 23 for the Mavericks, who have won four straight and six of their last seven games.
Baron Davis and Mickael Pietrus both had 22 points in the loss for Golden State. Derek Fisher netted 14 points as the Warriors saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.
Nowitzki’s jumper from the elbow staked Dallas to a 73-62 lead with 5 1/2 minutes remaining in the third quarter. The Mavericks then carried an 83-70 advantage into the final stanza.
Terry sank a pair of foul shots with 6:30 remaining in the game to extend Dallas’ lead to 94-79. Golden State never posted a serious threat the rest of the way and suffered its 11th loss in 12 tries at home versus Dallas.
The Mavericks, who led 57-54 at halftime, improved to 3-1 against Golden State this season. Dallas shot 47 percent for the game, while the Warriors made 40 percent of their shots.
