NBA Game Summary - Dallas at New Orleans/Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City, OK (Basketball News) - Dirk Nowitzki had 24 points, 10 rebounds and five assists to lead Dallas past New Orleans/Oklahoma City, 95-90, at the Ford Center.

Josh Howard had 20 points and seven rebounds, while Jason Terry netted 20 points for the Mavericks, who have won two straight after a three-game losing streak to improve to 22-8 on the season.

David West led the Hornets with 18 points and 10 boards. Speedy Claxton had 17 points off the bench and rookie Chris Paul chipped in 16 and 10 assists, as New Orleans/Oklahoma City suffered its second loss in a row and fourth in five contests.

Terry’s basket early in the fourth quarter staked Dallas to an 83-70 lead. The Mavericks made it 94-80 on a Jerry Stackhouse three-pointer and then recorded their 16th consecutive win over the Hornets and 19th in the last 25 meetings.

They are 3-0 against New Orleans/Oklahoma City this season.

The Hornets led by a 25-22 margin after the first quarter, but Dallas battled back to even the score at 44 apiece at halftime. The Mavericks later scored the last seven points of the third quarter and carried a 73-63 lead into the final frame.

Dallas has won eight straight as the visitor against the Hornets...The Mavs are 11-4 on the road this season, while New Orleans/Oklahoma City fell to 7-6 as the host...Stackhouse had 14 points off the bench...Desmond Mason had 13 points and P.J. Brown contributed 10 in the loss.
