On Friday, T.J. Ford made the game-winning layup with 15.4 seconds left, as Milwaukee blew a large first-quarter lead then rallied to defeat the Charlotte Bobcats, 103-102, at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.
Michael Redd tallied 12 of his 26 points in the final quarter and made a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line, as the shooting guard continued his mastery of the Bobcats. Redd averaged 27.3 points in four contests with Charlotte last season.
Milwaukee’s last two top draft picks, Ford and Andrew Bogut, also turned in stellar performances. Ford tallied 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Bogut contributed 18 points and tied a season-high with 17 boards in the victory, the Bucks’ second in three games.
Bobby Simmons donated 20 points and Jamaal Magloire notched a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds in the win.
The Bucks overcame a season-high 23 turnovers and improved to 13-0 in games decided by six points or less.
Milwaukee, which will hit the road for three games after tonight’s tilt, is 10-7 in its arena this season.
Denver, meanwhile, comes in on a losing note after falling to the Minnesota Timberwolves, 103-89, on Friday at the Target Center.
Carmelo Anthony had 21 points while Andre Miller and Kenyon Martin each netted 14 for the Nuggets, who lost for the first time in three games and fell for only the second time in their last six tries.
Denver, which will close a three-game road trip in Chicago on Monday, is 6-10 away from home this season.
Milwaukee dropped both meetings with the Nuggets last season, but should hold the advantage tonight, as the home team in this series has won eight of the last 11 meetings. Denver has also dropped six of nine in Milwaukee.
