Bulls travel to Denver

02.8.2006

(Basketball News) - The Chicago Bulls attempt to halt a four-game losing streak when they continue their seven-game road trip tonight against the Denver Nuggets.

Chicago is 0-4 on its season-long road swing. On Monday, Mehmet Okur’s three- pointer with seven-tenths of a second left in overtime lifted the Utah Jazz over the Bulls, 109-107, at the Delta Center.

Ben Gordon, who hit the game-tying three-pointer at the end of regulation, finished with a game-high 35 points in the loss to the Jazz for Chicago. Kirk Hinrich added 19 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Bulls, who blew a seven-point lead in overtime to fall seven games under .500 for the season.

The Bulls are 10-14 as the visitor this season. They will visit the Sacramento Kings on Thursday and the Clippers on Sunday in the finale of the current swing.

Denver tries to get back on the winning track as it plays the first of a brief two-game homestand. On Monday, Jason Richardson scored 28 points on 10-of-20 shooting and also grabbed seven rebounds as the Golden State Warriors held off the Nuggets, 122-114, at The Arena.

Carmelo Anthony had a game-high 34 points and Andre Miller added 22 points and nine assists in the loss to Golden State for the Nuggets, who have lost five of their last six games overall.

The Nuggets, who will host the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, are 16-9 as the host this season. They have won five of their last six contests at the Pepsi Center.

This is the second and final meeting of the season between the clubs. On January 16th, Carmelo Anthony poured in 39 points to lead Denver past Chicago, 97-94, at the United Center.

The Nuggets have won nine of 11 and 10 of the last 13 meetings in this series. Chicago has lost six straight after winning its last two at Denver.
