Cavs try to make it five straight wins versus Rockets

03.26.2006

(Basketball News) - The Cleveland Cavaliers will attempt to extend their four-game winning streak today when they visit the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center.

Cleveland made it four straight with Friday’s 94-82 win over the Boston Celtics at Quicken Loans Arena.

LeBron James scored 19 of his 36 points in the fourth quarter and added eight assists, seven rebounds and three blocks for the Cavaliers, who won for the eighth time in their last 11 games.

Donyell Marshall came off the bench to score 14 points and grab six boards. Flip Murray tallied 13 points for the Cavs, who are seeded No. 4 in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Cleveland won every game on the latest four-game homestand and will hit the road where it has lost three straight and five of seven. The Cavaliers own a 14-19 mark as the visitor this season.

Meanwhile, the Rockets put to rest a six-game losing streak with Thursday’s 93-92 win over the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets at the Ford Center.

Yao Ming and Rafer Alston scored 22 points apiece, while Juwan Howard posted 16 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

Houston will open a three-game homestand with Cleveland on Sunday and has dropped four in a row at the Toyota Center.

The Rockets are 13-22 as the host this season.

Sunday’s meeting is the second and final matchup of the season between Cleveland and Houston. The Rockets posted a 90-81 victory on January 5 and have won five straight and six of the last seven meetings with the Cavs.

Cleveland has lost three straight and eight of its last nine at Houston.
