Celtics’ Pierce day-to-day

East Rutherford, NJ (Basketball News) - Boston Celtics swingman Paul Pierce is listed as day-to-day with an infected middle finger on his left hand.

The 6-6, 230-pound forward/guard missed Tuesday’s preseason game against the New Jersey Nets and will be examined by team physician Dr. Brian McKeon at New England Baptist Hospital.

In five preseason games, Pierce has averaged 15.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg and 2.0 apg.
