(Basketball News) - The Nuggets posted a 107-96 thumping of the New York Knicks at the Pepsi Center Sunday.
Carmelo Anthony scored a game-high 25 points to pace the Nuggets to the victory. Voshon Lenard added 16 points and Francisco Elson scored 12 points after being activated from the injured list. Nene and Earl Boykins chipped in 11 points each.
The Nuggets snapped a season-high five- game losing streak by hitting 50 percent of their shots. Denver improved to 22-9 at home this season.
Marcus Camby sat out with a strained right groin. It is unknown when Camby will return to the lineup.
Denver is 9-9 on the second night of back-to-back games. The Nuggets fell 112-97 at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs Saturday night.
The Nuggets forced 27 New York miscues, turning them into 33 points. In the contest, Denver shot 76.5 percent from the free throw line (26-of-34). The Nuggets were also 5-of-9 from three-point range.
The Nuggets have a day off before returning to court against the New Jersey Nets at the Pepsi Center Tuesday night. Denver has lost three straight and four of the last five meetings with the Nets. However, the Nuggets have won three of their last five home tilts versus New Jersey.
