Kings sign first-round pick Martin 07.8.2004

Sacramento, CA (Basketball News) - The Sacramento Kings announced Wednesday that Kevin Martin, the team’s first round choice in the 2004 NBA draft, has agreed to a three-year contract.
Martin, whom the Kings chose with the 26th overall selection, will make at least $2.34 million under the length of the deal, which includes a club option for the 2007-08 season, as per the league’s rookie salary structure.
Martin averaged 24.9 points and shot nearly 34 percent from three-point range in his final season at Western Carolina. The 6’7" guard, who entered the draft following his junior campaign, scored at a 23.3 points per game clip in 79 career college games.
Sacramento also signed its second-round pick, guard Ricky Minard, who finished his career as Morehead State’s all-time leading scorer with 2,381 points.
