Kings try to extend winning streak against Bobcats

11.29.2005

(Basketball News) - The Sacramento Kings attempt to extend their winning streak to three games tonight, as they welcome the Charlotte Bobcats to ARCO Arena.

This is the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. The teams are scheduled to play on December 19th at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.

The Kings play the finale of a four-game homestand. On Friday, Bonzi Wells’ basket with two seconds left lifted Sacramento to a 106-104 victory over the Toronto Raptors at ARCO Arena. Wells finished with 18 points and nine rebounds, while center Brad Miller had 16 points, eight boards and eight assists.

Mike Bibby scored 25 points and Shareef Abdur-Rahim contributed 22 points and eight rebounds in the victory over Toronto for the Kings, who beat the Raptors for the eighth consecutive time at ARCO Arena.

Forward Peja Stojakovic last played for the Kings on November 20th against Seattle. He has a finger injury and is questionable for tonight’s game. Sacramento is 2-1 without Stojakovic in the lineup.

The Kings are 5-3 at home this season. They will go on the road on Wednesday to play the Golden State Warriors at The Arena in Oakland, before returning home for another four-game homestand.

Sacramento has won four of its last five at ARCO Arena.

The Bobcats begin a four-game road trip tonight. They will also visit Seattle, Golden State and the Lakers on the swing.

Charlotte has won two of its last three contests. On Saturday, Gerald Wallace compiled 26 points, 14 rebounds and five blocked shots to spark the Bobcats to a 100-82 home victory over the Washington Wizards at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.

Kareem Rush finished with 23 points, while Emeka Okafor netted 10 and grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds in the win over Washington for the Bobcats, who recorded their first triumph over Washington in five lifetime meetings.

The Bobcats are 1-6 on the road this season.

These teams have split their only two meetings. Both squads were victorious on their homecourt during the 2004-05 campaign.
