Memphis Grizzlies Team Report - February 28 02.28.2004
|
(Basketball News) - THe Memphis Grizzlies will try and get back on the winning track tonight when they welcome the New Orleans Hornets to the Pyramid.
Memphis comes into tonight’s contest on a down note after falling to the Milwaukee Bucks, 106-104, on Friday at the Bradley Center. James Posey netted 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Grizzlies, who have dropped two straight on the heels of a five-game win streak.
With just 22 seconds to play, Michael Redd was fouled while shooting from about 15 feet away. He made the first to give Milwaukee a 105-104 edge, but missed the second allowing Memphis a final shot at the win.
With three seconds left, Shane Battier had an open look, but could not find the bottom of the net.
The loss was just the second this season for Memphis when scoring 100 points (21-2).
The Grizzlies, who will hit the road for four games following tonight’s affair, have won six of their last seven at home and are 22-8 in their arena this season.
New Orleans defeated the Grizzlies earlier in the year and has won four of the last six meetings. The Hornets are also 5-2 all-time as the visitor in this series.
